How it all started...
The beginnings of Douglas Island Bible Church began in 1964. Two contributing factors leading to its establishment were the prayers and vision of Gospel Missionary Union personnel and the church board of the Auke Bay Bible Church who saw the need for such a ministry on Douglas Island.
In January of 1965 the second floor of the Eagles Hall on 3rd Street in Douglas was rented for church services. In January the first service was conducted with 40 people attending. In June of that year the first vacation bible school was held with a maximum of 118 children in attendance.
